In this essay, we provide findings from 2 studies built to explore socialization that is gender-related Latino/a families. In learn 1, 22 adult Latinas (ages 20вЂ“45) finished in-depth interviews. In learn 2, 166 Latino/a university students (58% females; M age 21.4 years) finished self-report surveys. Research 1 findings declare that numerous parents that are latino/a their daughters in manners which can be marked by вЂњtraditionalвЂќ gender-related expectations and communications. outcomes of Learn 2, which included descriptive analyses together with creation of scales to explore family members correlates of gender-related socialization, help and expand these findings. Male and female participants described different experiences of home tasks, socialization of gender-typed behavior, and freedom to pursue social tasks or get access to privileges. Parental characteristics, specially gender role attitudes, had been connected to gender-related socialization. Findings are discussed in light of this developmental and literature that is cultural gender-related socialization.
